If you need to soften, detox, add volumize or even treat dandruff, the answer is right there in your kitchen. Can salt really transform your hair? What? Salt is more beneficial to your hair than you can imagine.

Salt can be considered bad or harmful for hair, because it contains sodium which has some bad side effects. However, you should know that sea salt has about 26 minerals that are beneficial for the hair. For this reason, sea salt sprays are becoming so popular among hair products.

Salt is obtained in two different ways: mining from the earth and evaporation from sea water. I am not going into specific details about each salt, but the salt that I will be referring to in this post is sea salt for it’s many benefits and minerals including magnesium, calcium, sulfur, bromide, iodine, sodium, zinc and potassium. These essential minerals are naturally in our bodies but must be replenished, as they are lost throughout the day.

Can salt really transform your hair? Yes it can, and here are the different ways it can help:

1. Softens the Hair
Sea salt is great to soften the hair. This happens because of it’s high content of essential minerals that makes the hair shiny and moisturized while protecting and repairing the hair.  Sea salt has healing properties that can repair damaged hair.

2. Treat dandruff
To get rid of dandruff, apply sea salt on your scalp before washing your hairhair. This will act as a scrub for your scalp loosening up the flakes leaving the scalp clean allowing any products you apply on your scalp to penetrate better.  Crushing sea salt on the scalp before wetting hair will loosen the flakes as well as enable better penetration of scalp treatment.

3. Stops Sweating Of Scalp
Sweaty scalp is a problem that affect a lot of women and can be the cause of smelly hair. To get rid of excess sweat, apply salt spray on dampened roots and allow it to dry. This will soak up any sweat or oil throughout the day as salt can absorb moisture.

4. Adds Volume
Adding coarse sea salt to shampoo is an easy and affordable way to get thicker and fuller hair.

5.Detox
Adding sea salt to your shampoo will also detox your hair, remove dead skin cells, product build-up and dirt.

Seal salt detox will leave your hair super clean without losing its natural oils.

6. Hair mask

In a bowl, mix two tablespoons of salt, one teaspoon of almond oil, and one teaspoon of olive oil. Apply this mix on your scalp with a soft massage, leave it on for about 20 minutes, then wash and style your hair as usual.

Salt is not so bad after all, right? Sea salt is actually one of the most effective and easy ways to give your hair a detox while maintaining it’s natural oils. All safe, all natural..
