The 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup will be this July 7-26, the premier soccer event involving nations from North, Central America, and the Caribbean. This is one of the main events to get together and echar relajo because soccer games are the perfect opportunity to gather with family and friends and poke fun at the opposing team.

For these time of celebration, my friend and family always opt for BBQ; everybody brings a dish, mostly rice and salad and I am always in charge of the drinks. At every get-together, I like to impress my friends, so for this year’s gold cup games, I will be serving a fruit spritzer. This drink is great for the summer and you can basically mix it with non-alcoholic or alcoholic beverages. We all know that it’s not only about the food or the drinks, it’s all about the presentation and high quality ingredients. So, I went to Target to buy everything I needed for this easy but refreshing spritzer.

Ingredients:
Your favorite melons (watermelons, cantaloupe, honeydew melon, white honeydew melon, etc.)
You can also add grapes or basically any fruit you like.

Rinse the melons, cut them in half, remove the seeds, and with a melon baller, scoop out the melon balls from the fruit (you can also use an ice-cream scoop to make bigger balls).
Use a flat plate or baking tray and cover with wax paper, then arrange the melon balls on it.
Freeze the melon balls for a few hours until frozen. Remove them from the freezer and transfer them to a freezer bag. Place the bag in the freezer until ready to use.

Place the melon ball ice cubes in a glass, add sparkling water, soda water, or sparkling wine. This drink is not only beautiful, but the fruit gives a delicious hint of taste to the water, soda, or sparkling wine, that will have all your friends shouting Golazo.

La Copa de Oro 2015 de la CONCACAF será del 7 al 26 julio, el evento más importante del fútbol en donde se dan cita países del Norte, Centroamérica y el Caribe. Esta es una de las principales excusas para reunirse y echar relajo con familiares y amigos y burlarnos del equipo contrario cuando pierden (cosa que no es tan divertida cuando los perdedores somos nosotros).

Para estos tiempos de celebración, me gusta reunirme con amigos y familiares en donde casi siempre optamos por hacer un BBQ por que es mas conveniente; todo el mundo trae un plato, principalmente arroz y ensaladas y yo siempre estoy a cargo de las bebidas. En cada reunion, me gusta impresionar a mis amigos, así que para los juegos de la Copa Oro de este año, les llevare una bebida refrescante de frutas. Esta bebida es ideal para el verano y puedes básicamente mezclarlo con bebidas alcohólicas o no alcohólicas. Todos sabemos que no es sólo acerca de la comida o la bebida, hay que impresionar con unos lindos vasos, platos, e ingredientes de alta calidad, así que me fui a Target para comprar todo lo que necesitaba para preparar mi bebida refrescante.

Ingredientes:
Tus melones favoritos (sandías, melón, melón dulce, melon blanco, etc.)
También puedes agregar uvas o básicamente cualquier fruta que te guste.

Enjuaga los melones, cortarlos por la mitad, quitar las semillas y con un sacabolas retira las bolas de melón de la fruta (también se puede usar un sacador de helados para hacer las bolas más grandes).
Usa un plato o bandeja de horno plana y cubrir con papel de cera, luego organiza las bolas de melón en él, de manera que no queden pegadas, para que no sea muy difícil sacarlas cuando se congelen.
Congelar las bolas de melón durante unas horas o hasta que se congelen. Transferir las bolas a una bolsa/funda con cierre hasta que las vayas a usar.

Pon las bolas de melon congeladas en un vaso de tu preferencia y puedes añadir agua con gas, soda, o vino espumante. Esta bebida no sólo se ve super linda, pero la fruta da un delicioso toque de sabor al agua, refresco o vino, y así tendrás a todos sus amigos gritando Golazo.
