DIY glow rinse for dark hair |Enjuague para dar brillo al cabello oscuro

Sorry my light haired curly girls, but this post is all about my dark haired chicas, but you can keep reading because this DIY project starts with a delicious fragrance that I am sure you are going to enjoy, specially now that we are working on transitioning our beauty routine, outfits, and spaces into fall.

While I was at Walmart getting my ingredients (best price on a big bottle of apple cider vinegar) I noticed all the home decoration for fall. I don’t always have the money to change the decoration in my house according to the season, so what do I do? Candles chicas; the best and easier way to enhance my everyday life and transition into fall without spending a lot of money. I got my ingredients and a couple of the new American Home™ by Yankee Candle® products at the home and candle department. I know what you are thinking “candles for a DIY glow rinse for dark hair?” yes and no. I just bought the American Home™ by Yankee Candle® because I love their new fragrances and because I need a jar, smart shopping chicas. I spent $10.93 on a candle and when empty, I can find a new purpose to the jar.  

Shades of Fall (I love this name), after my 12oz Medium 2-Wick Tumbler long lasting candle was burned all the way -always make sure to follow instructions on the label when you are using candles- I removed the excess of wax, -which was not much, because these candles burn very consistently. I covered the whole jar in warm water for a few minutes to easily remove the label, I washed with soap, and I got myself a new jar “I love reusable items”. 

For this DIY glow rinse for dark hair, you will also need:

2 cups of water
3 tbsp dried sage
3 tbsp dried rosemary
1/2 cup apple-cider vinegar
1 large beetroot
3 tsp coffee

All these ingredients combined are wonderful to give dark hair a depth of color with a hint of red. You just have to combine all the ingredients in a saucepan and simmer for 30 minutes. Strain, apply to your hair, cover with a plastic shower cap, and leave it on for at least 30 minutes. Shampoo and style as usual.

Hair wash day is usually a long process for me, so for this type of rinse, I like to cut on time and make it a day or more before to have it ready when I need to use it (the reason why I need to have jars to stores all my natural lotions and potions). Candle jars are the best and an easier way to be able to have beautiful jars and containers that I use to store and to create DIY gifts as well. Las trigueñas nos divertimos mas!! Lo siento rubias/gueras y demás colores de cabellos claro, este articulo es para nosotras las de cabello oscuro, jjajja es broma, se pueden quedar porque esta receta casera para el cabello oscuro comienza con una rica fragancia que de seguro les va a encantar, especialmente ahora que estamos en la transición de nuestras rutinas de belleza, atuendos y decoración de la casa al otoño.

Les cuento que me fui a Walmart a comprar mis ingredientes para esta receta (precios bajos en la botella grande de vinagre de cidra de manzana) y bueno ya todo esta en el ambiente del otoño con las decoraciones para la casa. Yo no siempre tengo el presupuesto para cambiar la decoración según la temporada, por eso me valgo de la mejor herramienta para hacer sentir mi casa que llego el otoño “Las velas “. Las velas o velones me dan la oportunidad de hacer la transición entre estaciones sin gastar mucho dinero. Y tenia todos mis ingredientes, así que me pase por el departamento de velas y hogar a chequear las nuevas fragancias American Home™ by Yankee Candle®. Estarán pensando: que tiene que ver las velas con esta receta para el cabello? Muy sencillo, ustedes saben que me gusta reciclar, y estas velas de American Home™ by Yankee Candle® vienen en un envase que puedo utilizar para almacenar mis pociones y lociones naturales. Sin duda la mejor inversion para $10.93 que me costo la vela o velon. 

Sombras del otoño “Shades of fall” (me encanta ese nombre), fue la fragancia que compre -bueno y varias velas mas, porque soy débil jajjja- después de que mi vela de larga duración de 12 oz estaba terminada, le quite el exceso de cera con una servilleta de papel y lo sumergí en agua tibia para poder remover bien la etiqueta, lo lave con jabón y listo, tenia un envase lindo que puedo usar para esta receta o para regalitos de los tratamientos o exfoliante que hago.  Me encanta los artículos que puedo re-utilizar.

Para este enjuague casero para el cabello oscuro también necesitaras:

2 tazas de agua
3 cucharadas de salvia seca
3 cucharadas de romero secos
1/2 taza de Vinagre de sidra de manzana
1 remolacha
3 cucharadas de cafe.

Todos estos ingredientes combinados son maravillosos para dar al cabello oscuro una profundidad de color con un toque de rojo. Sólo tienes que combinar todos los ingredientes en una cacerola y cocina a fuego lento durante 30 minutos. Colar y una vez frio aplicar al cabello seco, cubrir con un gorro de ducha de plástico y dejar actuar durante al menos 30 minutos. Lavar y peinar como de costumbre.

Los días que me toca lavar el cabello suelen tomarme varias horas, así que para acortar tiempo y cuando me quiero hacer este u otro enjuague que requiere preparación y que se enfríe, me gusta hacerlo el día anterior. Por esta razón, me gusta comprar velas que vengan en frascos que puedo reutilizar.
