Celebrating Heritage month with a new look is a post in collaboration with JCPenney, all opinions are my own. fall-fashion

It’s Hispanic Heritage month, yay!! This is a very special month for all hispanics living in the United States. Even though I kind of celebrate my heritage every day of the month through food – mainly- this month is a perfect moment to gather around the table and tell my daughters stories about my past and the people that meant and mean a lot to me.

I told my daughters -I am celebrating Heritage month with a new look this year- They told me that I was just getting an excuse to go to  JCPenney and buy those pair of black jeans that I thought of buying the other day. They were right. But, I always try to teach them things without them even noticing, and this time was no exception.

The most important person in my life when I was a kid was my grandma (that died when I was 15 years old) but she taught me everything I know when it comes to personal care and keeping a house and a family running. Yes I went to buy me those cute BELLE + SKY™ Destructed Skinny Jeans and a.n.a® Long-Sleeve Shaker Sweater but this is my way to keep my culture alive in an everyday lifestyle. Celebrating Heritage month with a new lookI took a moment right there at JCPenney and right after over ice-cream to tell them the story on how important keeping the clothes in good shape was to my grandma.  She always said that no matter how poor we were, if we took care of our clothes and wash it with similar colors, we will have that piece for a long time. Thank God, we can afford to buy clothes more often than I used to back then. But I want to teach my daughters the importance of taking care of what they have and to always remember how lucky they are to have clothes and a healthy body to put them on.
